Parramatta Mission

Parramatta Mission helps people with acute needs or who suffer acute neglect. In particular, its services assist people in crises, those living with mental illnesses, and people who are homeless.

Parramatta Mission is an initiative of four local Uniting Church congregations, and one of the biggest providers of community services in Sydney’s west and Hills District. The Mission works in partnership with Federal, State and local governments as well as the business community and other welfare organisations and community groups to support those in need.

The Western Sydney Community Forum (WSCF) is the peak body for community organisations in the Western Sydney region, representing more than 200 organisations supporting local residents.

Mars Hill Café

Mars Hill Café provides ethical coffee, affordable food, outdoor dining and performance spaces for music and art. The café owners say they aim to provide a personal, ‘second lounge room’ experience.

The music is local and independent, the volunteer staff-members are passionate about what they do, and the art is alternative. Café activities include poetry recitals, a new writers’ group, and artist’s forum, a music network and regular band performances.

The café won the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce award for ‘Excellence to the Community’ for a business with less than 20 employees.

Shell Clyde Refinery and Gore Bay Terminal

The Shell Clyde Refinery and Gore Bay Terminal is part of the manufacturing business of Shell Australia Pty Ltd, which in turn belongs to the multinational Royal Dutch Shell Group.

The refinery produces a range of fuel and fuel-derivative products that are sold to Shell retail outlets and subsidiaries, as well as to a range of external businesses including vehicle fuel retailers like BP.
